The book we read was Lily`s Crossing by Patricia Reilly Giff. The price of Lily`s Crossing is $5.99. Unfortuatly there aren`t any pictures because the book is for older kids. There are180 pages in this book. Lilys Crossing occurs in Rockaway during World War 2. There's an ocean and along the horizon ships sway in the wind. On the road it's rocky with dust and dirt. If you go too far with what you say it could mess you up in the end. Lily meets Albert and these two best friends are mixed together. Lily has a part of Abert and Albert has a part of Lily. At first Lily thinks Albert is a nazi spy so Lily goes around spying on Albert. They do jump a few hurdles. Then Lily tells a lie - its not the first, but its the one that could effect Alberts life. Our opinion about Lily's Crossing is that we loved it because there was a learning moral. Lily's Crossing is well written because there is a meaning for everything. There isn't alot of dialogue but there is alot of interior monologue. A girl and a mature boy between the ages 8-12 would enjoy this book. The genre is relistic fiction. There is a very interesting quote from the book: "Lily told a lie that could cost Albert's life!" Read this book to find out what happens to Lily and Albert's life! We're sure you'll enjoy Lily's Crossing!
